I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas C:

Seems like we've had a great turn out so far! There are still around 6 people who are yet to upload their pieces though. I will give them a day then I will note them to remind them.

Also if you are yet to see your piece, check the event's favourites! I've gone around and favourited every piece I could find, so if your Santa hasn't identified themself yet, you may be able to find them there

Hopefully everyone will upload their pieces, if not, I'll make sure everyone gets art eventually!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who worked hard to make this event a reality. I'm glad so many of you had fun <3
I spent a very long time making sure everyone was situated, and I'm glad my work paid off! Who knows, their just may be an 09 event on the horizon

Hello and welcome to “My Secret Santa 08!”
This is the first year of the MySecretSanta and hopefully not the last. I apologize for the late start, but hopefully the determination of our members can make up for the lost time 8)

_The Way It Works_
If you don’t know what it means to be a part of a Secret Santa project, I’ll give you the gist of it.

Basically, a bunch of deviants get together and send in a note each of a character they would like to have drawn. After the Sign-up Deadline, I will draw names and match up people at random, and each person will have to draw another DA artist’s character. HOWEVER, the “Secret” part of it is that you do not tell the person you get that you have them
Then, come Christmas day (or Christmas Eve if necessary) all participants will upload and send links of their pieces to the person whose character they were assigned to draw! And Bam, Christmas gift artwork for everybody!

_Rules and Regulations_
One thing we do ask is that you please be respectful of the other artists in this event. Don’t do a quick sketch and complain you didn’t have time. Color your piece, make it pretty. You would want someone to do the same for you; it would be a big disappointment for someone to spend hours on a piece and then receive something that looked as if done within a matter of minutes. I’m not saying you need to go all out or anything, just saying you should give what you would like to get.

If you do not submit a piece, you will be banned from this event in future times. It is unfair for someone to work hard on a piece for you if you do not bother to honor your commitment to the event. If in the event, you’re Secret Santa neglects to do a piece for you, I will make sure you get a piece from someone else later on.

DO NOT tell your artist you are their Secret Santa, and DO NOT ask around to find out who has you. It’s rude and unfair.

_Signing Up_

How do you sign up for MySecretSanta? It’s simple really, all you need to do is send the “MySecretSanta08” a note filling out this simple form:

Character I’d like Drawn: (name and link to ref go here) (character descriptions are acceptable, but please be as specific as possible)
Character Personality: (give a simple description of the character’s personality)
Character Species: (what sort of animal/ creature/ etc. your character is)
I will Not Draw: (anything you refuse to draw, so you don’t get stuck drawing something entirely out of your league)

After the Signup Deadline, you will receive a note like this, only from another person, and you will draw the character you are directed to. Then on Christmas Day, you will upload the piece and send a link to the person whose character you drew!

Nah, I’ll take that part out of the note when I send them around, it just so I don’t accidentally stick you with something you’d have trouble drawing!
Could the same person get more than one Secret Santa
Nope, that's not the way it works. Everyone will draw one character, and recieve one piece of gift art
Can I ask for any type of character to be drawn?
Sure, even if you havy some wacky creature you want artwork of it's fine. I'll do my best to make sure everything comes out right
How do I know I've been accepted?
The event will reply to your note and post your avatar in the participants section. If you're in there, you're part of the event. It takes a while to get through all the notes so please be patient!
